So the final tally for the Cash for Clunkers program said this.
690,114 new cars sold. Almost $3,000,000,000 in rebates. 3 Billion. Hmmm...
Nowhere's a statistic I found interesting. There's a comparison chart in the LA Times business section (which strangely enough, is not included in the online article). It's a comparison between the overall market share of the major car companies in the cash for clunkers program and the share of cars sold in the program.
Of the 10 car manufacturers included in the chart, 3 had a smaller share of the rebate program than of their overall market share. Basically they sold a smaller percentage of the 690,114 cars than the percentage they do of total cars sold outside the program.
Who were the 3 companies?
GM, Ford and Chrysler.
Says a lot about the 3 companies and the American car industry.
Awesome movie. I mean reallly awesome. Go see it. Really intense but it's not just a sci-fi action movie. It's a whole lot more than that. It's not just the best Sci-fi movie I've seen but one of the best movies I've seen.
I know now everyone is a fan of mixed martial arts. It's bloody and violent etc etc. Well I'm not getting on a soap box about anything, but you need to check out Genki Sudo. He's a retired fighter and he was really good. He has wins over Nate Marquardt (current UFC star), Mike Brown (current WEC Champ), Eric "Butterbean" Esch (who outweighed him by almost 200lbs), Royler Gracie (0f the famous Gracie family), and Damaico Paige. He ended his career with a record of 16-4-1 (on his website they say that many sites are incorrect in saying that he lost his first fight with Tiki Ghosn. They also show the medal to prove it). The man was a fighter.
But here's the deal.
He could DANCE. I mean he could DANCE.
He's famous for his entrances before fights and there's good reason. They're legendary. I mean he puts the
WWE to SHAME. For goodness sake he puts some musicians to shame. Have a look.
This second link is a compilation of his Entrance and Fights. Fun because during his fights he would occasionally break into a mini robot dance or just do something crazy. And this would be right before he put someone into a submission and made them cry uncle.
He's now retired has written 7 books, dabbles in movies and has a baseball team for people over thirty, but here's the deal. Mr. Sudo has the most fantastic entrances EVER. Current fighters like Jason Mayhem Miller are doing a great of a job with their entrances.
